It’s getting to be time to work on some new designs. I’m trying to make sure that I am creating designs that meet the needs of the people buying them. My goal is to have them look fun and creative, but to use methods that are forgiving and generally beginner friendly. So here are a few questions I would love to have you answer for me! As usual, feel free to share also, the more people who answer the better! And for some extra incentive, on Sunday, April 26, I will draw a name from all of the comments, either here or on Facebook, and send the winner the kit of their choice, up to a $59 value!

  1. Do you like patterns that are quick and easy, or do you like a challenge?

  2. Do you see my designs/patterns as being quick and easy, or challenging?  (Click here to see them)

  3. Would you prefer patterns that are at least mostly traditional piecing, like the table runners, or do you like more unconventional methods like my curvy stripe backgrounds that are done by raw edge applique, like the recent wall hangings?

  4. Which category do you fit into?

    A. I like traditional quilting best

    B. I like more creative quilts, but find them intimidating

    C. I like to try new things with help from a pattern

    D. I like to try new things on my own

    E.  something else I missed…

Any other comments or suggestions are welcome! Thanks in advance...

1. I like both, as long as they appeal to me
2.quick, but not really easy.
3.I personally do not prefer raw edges, but would convert pattern
4.I can't put myself in any of your categories!
I keep going back to traditional, but love art quilts too. I like trying new ideas and never completely make anything exactly like a pattern. I love your color combinations and patterns !

1. Both, sometimes I want to slide with a project that doesn't push my befuddled brain cells any further, other times nothing will do but a challenge.
2. Elements of both, that is why I love your designs.
3. Depending on the desired results, both design styles work.
4. E. Something else you missed, namely all of the above.

1) Quick but not always easy.
2) Your patterns appear to be quick. There are some that look quite easy while others seem to be more of a challenge. I just found you today. Very happy I did!
3) I am loving your curvy stripe backgrounds. But I must admit, when it comes to quilting, I am a traditionalist at heart.
4) A. Although I am starting to branch out, a little.

I would love to be able to create like you do. But I can't so doing your patterns lets me be creative with out having to do all the work. I can still add my own little things. Or your card patterns use my own colors.

I am a homeschooling mom of three fun kids, who are now old enough that I have a little time to pursue my passion for sewing! After several years of making quilted cards and art quilts, I'm now designing kits and patterns.  Some of my designs have been in Keepsake Quilting and Art Quilting Studios magazine! I  teach classes online, and am starting to do more traveling and teaching. I also have many tutorials, including some on YouTube. I am blessed to live in Alaska where I am surrounded by the inspiration provided by the beauty of God's creation!
