This kit contains almost everything you need to complete this project, including beautiful hand dyed fabric from Starr Design Fabrics, batik fabric, fusible fleece (instead of batting), and even backing fabric! You will still need fusible web and thread. Having all this in the kit saves you time and money. Less running around to get supplies means you can get right to sewing. For thread, I used green, tan, brown, yellow, black, and a 12 weight green for the grass. This design was inspired by the majestic Sandhill Cranes that show up each year by our home in Fairbanks, Alaska. They pass through Interior Alaska in large numbers each spring and fall, but there are some that nest not far from our house, so sometimes we can hear their loud calls. |
Unlike our other wall hangings, this one has traditional pieced strips for the background.
