 Here is my latest attempt at a fireweed card from last weekend's retreat. Otherwise, I'm still up to my neck in my daughter's chiffon Easter dress:-)
 I'm home from a great retreat weekend. I got tons of sewing done, and I did a few new designs, so I'll put pictures of those on here this week. I finally got a screen made for a moose for screen printing. For sewing this week though, I'm on to a chiffon Easter dress for my daughter...
 Once again, I haven't had much new to put on here. But it's not for lack of sewing...this time I'm getting ready for a quilting retreat weekend. I'm always amazed at how much I get done when I sew with these ladies, usually I run out of stuff to do. So this time I'm bringing TONS of cards to work on. I made myself a bunch of kits with everything in them for a batch of one design. I decided to finish an outhouse, so I'd have something to put on here! Hopefully next week I'll have more new things done, I have a new moose silk screen and a new forget-me-not coming up!
 I figured out that I recently hit card number 2000. Here are pictures of my first two cards, they've changed a bit since then! The flowers on first one were made by laying flowers on the fabric and pounding them with a hammer. The second one is a fireweed blossom, and I used fireweed flowers to dye the fabric. The pictures aren't great, still trying to improve my photography skills, but these were from about 5 years ago. 
 Of course, I'm hoping to get new patterns up more often than I have been...at least this one is finally ready! It is the first line of the Happy Birthday song, another great chance to practice your free motion stitching!

After I drew that, it was time to draw for the two chickadee cards. My mom has been saying all week that she was going to win. So I told my kids before I did the drawing that if Grandma won, I would send her a card, but draw again for the contest. So, wouldn't you know, the first drawing was Grandma. So I drew again, and guess what? Grandma again. Out of 165 entries, of which she had 7. Good grief! I drew two more, and those lucky winners are Marilyn Coombs and Gill, congratulations!! Thanks so much to everyone who participated, it's going take me awhile to sort through all the great ideas, I should be busy for the rest of my life!  Now it's back to reality...I've been saving this picture until the contest was over. I recently taught a new class on designing a quilt based on a photo. This quilt was made by Jan, one of my students. She did a great job! The picture is a bit blurry, and it's hard to see details, like the thread sketched irises, but it turned out great! (I think it's about 36 inches wide.)
