I've been working on a design for a fall themed wall hanging, possibly because it has felt like fall for weeks here..... Today was sunny and upper 60's, it finally felt like summer again :-) The new quilt will probably be reminiscent of this set of cards I made a few years ago, can't go wrong with Starr Fabrics!

Here is another version of the chickadee, I have yet to make too many of those! The dragonfly quilt kits are on their way to the pattern testers, now the race is on to finish my quilt for the fair, which has to be in tomorrow...it doesn't have too much left. Tomorrow is also the last day of the Quilt Alaska quilt show at the Bear Gallery, for local people! I decided my sewing machine needed some bling :-) It probably also needs a name.... It's tempting to call it Bernie, but that's not very creative, any suggestions? (and, by the way, those sticky rhinestone thingys are nasty to work with, I'm pretty sure they didn't end up in their intended configuration...:-) ) My poor blog has been sadly neglected lately, I'm determined to do a little better...I have a few too many irons in the fire right now! The Dragonfly quilt kit is getting very close, and I have delivered almost 100 cards and lots of kits to a few quilt shops in the last week or so. My brain is spinning with new ideas, but I have plenty to do without that :-) Plus, my body is a bit unpredictable these days, I never quite know which one I'm going to get when I wake up, :-) This week has been good so far though! Here is a new card, using fabric from Starr Designs. I will be using quite a few of their fabrics in the Dragonfly kit also, the fabric is so nice, I feel like I'm cheating :-) Thanks to a holiday yesterday, I almost forgot to do my drawing for a free wild rose card! I finally did do it, and the winner is Claudette W, congratulations! I will send you an e-mail also, but if you see this first, please send your address to me at [email protected]. Thanks to everyone who participated! After lots of rain, we finally have had a nice sunny holiday weekend, so not much sewing happening. I did make a rare batch of non-Alaskan cards this week, partly for a change of pace for me :-) Local people, the Quilt Alaska Quilt Show opened last night at the Bear Gallery at Pioneer Park. It goes until July 26, from noon until 8 pm every day, be sure to check it out. I have a small quilt in it again. I will be working there at the gift shop on Wednesday evening from 4-8 pm, stop by and say hi! Woohoo, I reached 500 likes on my Facebook page, thanks to some friends putting me over the top :-) In honor of this momentous occasion, I am going to do a drawing for this finished quilted card. To enter, comment on this post (either on my blog or on Facebook) before midnight on Thursday, July 3rd, and tell me which of my patterns you like the best. (click here to see them) This will also serve as an informal poll for me :-) If you share the post on Facebook, I will enter your name again. |
