With Christmas only two weeks away, you may be feeling like those handmade projects might not get done in time! I have a few tips to help, as well as a buy one, get one sale on my "under an hour" quilted greeting card patterns, can't beat that! Tip # 1 When you only have small chunks of time to sew, it is really important to not have to round up all of the supplies every time...Keep all the parts (including thread!) for each project in an appropriate sized container, either a large zip loc, shoe box, plastic container, whatever works. Tip #2 Having your sewing machine set up all the time is really huge for getting things done whenever you have a few minutes. I have a large bedroom, so my 4 (ahem...) can stay set up. But most of my life I have had VERY small cabins or houses. Sewing has always been important enough to me to have my sewing machine set up at all times, no matter how small my house was! We had a couple of cabins that were around 300 square feet, it doesn't get much smaller than that! Even in my dorm rooms at college, my sewing machine was set up on my desk, one semester I had two! (Priorities, right?) See if you can find a spot, even if it just for now until Christmas, sometimes even a closet or end of hallway will work! Tip #3 Sometimes getting started is the hardest part. Set a timer for 15 minutes. When that is done, you can quit or keep going. Even if you quit, 15 minutes is better than none! Tip #4 Try to leave a project at a spot that is easy to start next time, even the middle of a seam if you can leave it set up! The less thinking you have to do at the beginning, the easier it is to start. Tip #5 This is the best tip of all, I think :-) But I'm not biased or anything... My quilted greeting card patterns can be done in less than an hour, especially if you make more than one of the same type... You only have to think once for each step, then do several. (Don't do too many though, it's not fun anymore, ask me how I know...:-) To make it easier for you, I am having a buy one, get one sale from now through Christmas. See the top of the home page for details! For less than $5, you could have a project done an hour from now. Ready, set go! Happy Sewing :-) Beret One more thing, free gift wrap, and free shipping, even to multiple addresses! In addition to the sale on card patterns, we are also offering free gift wrap on kits from now until Christmas!
