We had our friends' kids over last night, and 8 year old Claudia asked if we had time to make an owl pillow. My first thought was, "No, we don't,", but then I thought we might as well start and see how far we get, and sure enough, we finished it. This little girl has a bit of a reputation for being energetic and impulsive, so at first it might seem like sewing with her would be a challenge. But she is also fearless and decisive, which is helpful for lots of things, but especially choosing fabrics. And once she starts sewing, she is pretty determined...on our last project I finally had to MAKE her take a cookie break so I would get a break :-) It's great to see young people excited about sewing!
