Well, I came in third in the recent quilt contest. The voting is part of the judging, but there is also a judge who awards a chunk of the points. The judge gave my quilt the second highest amount of points, but it wasn't enough to get me up to second place :-) Our friend who was visiting and I made some birch bark projects yesterday. She made a basket and some stars. She practiced making the stars out of paper first. I made a basket and a hair thingy. My basket has some birch bark beads on it, and some woodburning. I made the hair thing with my sewing machine. The flower is free motion stitched even :-) The birch bark was a little too thick so it skipped a few stitches, but it mostly worked. Now it's back to making cards...I have a trip coming up so I need to get everyone stocked up before I go!
