The latest in my never ending quest for fireweed cards... See yesterday's post for a way to win a quilted card :-)

![]() This is my entry in this week's contest at the Quilting Gallery blog. The theme for the week is Leaves, Trees and Flowers. I made this scrapbook cover for a wedding gift a few years ago. It's a good size project to practice some art quilting techniques! Click on the purple box below to vote, or to get info on how to enter your own quilt in an upcoming (almost) weekly Quilter's Show and Tell contest. My own little contest! Also, for people on Facebook, I'm hosting a little contest of my own. If you "like" my facebook page (button on the right) and tell me in a blog comment (otherwise I might not know) you will be entered in a drawing for your choice of the raven or moose cards pictured below! If you have already "liked" my page, and you find a friend to like it, I will enter both you and your friend. You can do that as many times as you like :-) This also has to be put in a blog comment so I know. This will go for one week, it will end at noon Alaska time, Friday, September 13. ![]() It has come to my attention that my "Let It Snow" card pattern had a couple of mistakes in it.... Not sure how that happened, unless I missed having that one tested? Anyway, if you have purchased this pattern in the past, let me know and I will send you a new one! ![]() I put this picture on Facebook, but not on my blog, so this is a re-run for some of you... On our recent trip to MN, I picked up the camera to take a picture of my husband and two of my kids, and nearly dropped the camera in the
lake :-) I was looking at the exact same view as a quilt I made a few years ago based on a photo a friend took in the same spot! The angle is slightly different, but I probably couldn't have come closer if I was trying, which I wasn't. I didn't see it until I was looking through the camera. ![]() Another silk screened raven card...now back to work! Busy day today... For a quick way to do silk screens without a lot of equipment, see my tutorial here! I've been sewing like mad lately, but I've been working on several batches of cards at once, so I didn't have anything finished to put on here until today. I'm getting my teenage son trained to take the pictures and upload them to my blog, so all I have to do is sit down and write, it's been so helpful :-)

I teach classes online, and am starting to do more traveling and teaching. I also have many tutorials, including some on YouTube. I am blessed to live in Alaska where I am surrounded by the inspiration provided by the beauty of God's creation! Free card pattern and also an e-book, and a quilt planning checklist!
