1. I'm excited to finally have my latest pattern done! It is a quilted menu planner. A quilt project that gives you more time to sew, what more could you want? It comes with lots of tips for how to use it, plus a few recipes. In honor of "pattern launching weekend" I'm offering a bonus...anyone who downloads this pattern from now through Monday, Oct. 7, will also receive a free card pattern of your choice. (click the menu planner picture for details) 2. This weekend, I am sponsoring the Quilter's Show and Tell quilt contest on the Quilting Gallery website. This week's winner will receive a Black Capped Chickadee card pattern and a finished quilted greeting card. (pictured below) If you did not enter, you still have a chance to win by commenting on THAT blog post, link here, or click on the Quilter's Show and Tell box below. 3. And if that's not enough, if you "like" my Facebook page between now and Monday, Oct 7, (button in the sidebar to the right, not the one at the bottom of the post, that just "likes" this post :-)) you will be entered into a drawing for the same card that is being given away in the Quilting Gallery contest. (pictured below) Let me know either on Facebook, comment on this post, or on my contact page, I don't always get notifications..... Whew, I think that's everything... Feel free to help me out by pinning and sharing! Thanks!

The leaves have been coming down in great quantities, apparently I'm still in leaf mode. (Although at the moment they are being snowed on...) For this design, I made a silkscreen with a negative image on it. Then I did some stitching on it, but I still wasn't happy with it. I decided to try playing with water soluble oil pastels, which was fun. I colored the background and the leaves, then blended them with a wet paintbrush. The first picture is just the silkscreen. |

After several years of making quilted cards and art quilts, I'm now designing kits and patterns. Some of my designs have been in Keepsake Quilting and Art Quilting Studios magazine! I teach classes online, and am starting to do more traveling and teaching. I also have many tutorials, including some on YouTube. I am blessed to live in Alaska where I am surrounded by the inspiration provided by the beauty of God's creation! Free mini art quilt workshop for new subscribers!
